Yes, I agree. Maybe writing a few ficlets, or reverting back to working on older stuff will let you enjoy working on your fic w/out dealing with the long and arduous process of a research-oriented, multi-chapter fic. It also might feel good to wrap up loose ends so that you can start fresh all over again! :D
